Spotify began rolling out lossless audio to Premium subscribers in September 2025. The update introduced playback at up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC, with access expanding market by market.

The feature added separate quality settings for Wi-Fi, mobile data and downloads. Listeners needed to enable lossless manually on each device, with an indicator showing when the higher-quality stream was active.

Spotify recommended wired headphones or compatible non-Bluetooth playback for the intended listening experience. The company later confirmed that the rollout had reached more than 50 markets by October 6, 2025. Device support and regional availability are detailed in Spotify’s official announcement.
