Charlotte de Witte announced The Resistance in May 2026, introducing a new audiovisual show for selected festival and venue appearances. The project followed her earlier Overdrive production.

The announced premiere was scheduled for May 29 at UNVRS in Ibiza. Further dates included We Love Green in Paris, Sónar in Barcelona, Rock Werchter and Les Ardentes in Belgium, and Bilbao BBK in Spain.

De Witte said audiences at her February Flanders Expo event had already seen a preview of the concept. The rollout placed the new production across a series of summer bookings, combining her DJ performance with a dedicated visual identity.
