Ableton introduced Move in October 2024 as a portable instrument for capturing musical ideas away from a computer. Its four tracks can be used for drums, samples or melodic instruments, with a built-in microphone and speaker allowing users to start working without additional equipment.

The device combines 32 pressure-sensitive pads with a 16-step sequencer. At launch, it included more than 1,500 sounds and presets, alongside effects for shaping individual tracks and the overall mix.

Move also connects with Ableton Live, allowing sketches to be developed further in the desktop software. Its rechargeable battery and USB-C connection make it a compact addition to Ableton’s hardware range.
